Day 1 Arrival in Yangon

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and the rest of your day is at leisure.

Day 2 Yangon (B,L)

Today, we will visit the Sule Pagoda, located in the heart of Yangon and dates back over 2,500 years ago. Then make your way to the Chaukhtat Gyi Pagoda, an impressive 216 ft-long reclining Buddha image and have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, visit the spectacular golden Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most sacred Buddhist pagodas in Myanmar. Return to the hotel after the tour.

Day 3 Yangon – Bagan – Embark on RV Paukan (B,L,D)

Have breakfast at the hotel before transfer to the airport for morning flight to Bagan. Transfer to the pier and check in to your cabin. Welcome cocktail and briefing orientation. After lunch, tour Bagan and visit the Ananda Temple, one of the four great temples in Bagan. The Ananda is regarded by folklore as one of the most beautiful temples in Myanmar. The temple is shaped like a perfect Greek cross and rises in graduated terraces to a height of some 170’. Next visit is the Htilominlo Temple which a two-story, red-brick temple built around 1211 A.D. It is a magnificent structure, though now heavily restored. End the day with a quiet moment on the terraces of the Pyathatgyi Temple. Admire the light change on the pagodas which exude antiquity and mystery. Dinner will be served onboard.

Day 4 Bagan – River Village (B,L,D)

After breakfast onboard, we continue the exploration of the archeological area. Explore some of Bagan's local markets selling wood carvings, fabrics, longyis, and rattan products. Visit a workshop to see the ancient technique of lacquerware making.

Alternatively, guests can hire a horse cart or a bicycle and explore the site on their own or have a splendid Balloon Flight over Bagan (optional surcharge applied).

Return to the ship around noon and cast off. We will cruise upstream and stop at Shwe Pyi Thar village for a quick visit. Dinner will be followed by a Puppet Show performance in the village or sundeck.

Day 5 Yandabo (B,L,D)

In the morning, arrive at Yandabo, a picturesque village that specializes in Pot-Making, where the peace treaty of the First Anglo-Burmese War was signed on Feb. 24, 1826. We go ashore for a walk, stopping at some pot-making workshops and to visit the school and the monastery. We will cruise upstream and moor overnight at Myin Mu jetty.

Day 6 Monywa (Hpowindaung and Wswebadaung Caves) (B,L,D)

Early morning drive (approx. 1 ½ hours) to Monywa, visit Hpowindaung and the wonderful mural painting caves of Shwebadaung where hundreds of Buddha Statues are placed inside. After lunch, visit the splendid Sambuddhai Kat Kyaw pagoda with its more than 500,000 Buddha images. Continue drive to Sagaing (2 hours) to rejoin the ship. Dinner will be served onboard.

Day 7 Ava Amarapura - Mandalay Dismembarkation – Mandalay (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we will explore Ava by horse-cart visiting the beautiful 200 year-old teak Bagaya Kyaung Monastery, Nanmyin watchtower (27 mt. high) and the Me Nu Ok Kyaung monastery. We will travel by sampan and motor vehicle to explore Amarapura, the penultimate Burmese Royal Capital (1783) crossing the teak-made U-Bein Bridge. Return to the ship before noon and disembark at Mandalay Gawein Jetty. Our guide will meet us and transfer us to Mandalay Hill, we will enjoy the beautiful panoramic sunset view of this dynasty city. Check in to hotel. Dinner will be served at Kinsana Garden with a traditional show.

Day 8 Mandalay - Inle Lake (B,L)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for flight to Heho. Upon arrival, drive to Nyaung Shwe Jetty. Take a local boat excursion, heading to the middle of the lake to visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, an important religious site in the Shan State, see “one-legged rowing” fishermen, floating markets and villages that sit on floating islands. Transfer to hotel for check in by boat.

Day 9 Inle Lake – Nyaung Shwe Jetty

Today is free for your own activities.

Day 10 Inle Lake – Yangon – Departure (B)

The morning is free at leisure. Afternoon, transfer to the airport for flight to Yangon and flight home.
