You will see amazing and diverse landscapes:  spectacular emerald terraced rice fields, pristine rivers, and valleys, traditional markets, monumental caves and colorful mountain tribes all demonstrating a fascinating layer of history, cultural resilience and natural beauty.

The tropical waterways of the Mekong River Delta in the south of Vietnam empty into the sea through a maze of tributaries, canals, and an amazing labyrinth of islands. The size of the area covered by water depends on the season. Here you will be treated to intriguing traditional floating markets and colorful old world villages, boats of all sorts, types and variety of uses, and approachable and happy locals.

In Phong Nha-Ke National Park you’ll behold the phenomenal limestone karst eco-system. With mesmerizing limestone karsts jutting straight up from the water.  It is in this area that you can explore a series of world-record-breaking.

Attending a local festival is one of the best ways to learn the customs and culture of any country. We suggest you visit the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrated on the night of the full moon between early September and early October. In the Vietnamese culture, this is considered the second-most important holiday tradition after TET the Vietnamese New Year. Originally this festival was a time to enjoy the successful reaping of rice and wheat by making food offerings in honor of the moon. Today, it is still an occasion for outdoor reunions among friends and relatives with children parading through the streets singing and carrying colorful lanterns. The giving of moon cakes, the lion dances and flower dances are also an important and colorful aspect of this festival, which signifies harmony and unity.

Although natural scenic beauty abounds in Vietnam, there are also many man-made artistic treasures to contemplate and photograph. Vietnam boasts an eclectic collection of monuments. All of the big cities have striking temples and magnificent imperial tombs and monuments.  Many of the centuries old pagodas and temples throughout the land are still functioning today and you may even experience the chanting of the monks.

Vietnam has a long and rich history of the arts. You can see some of the extraordinary folk art known as Dong Ho or wooden block printing. Here organic materials are used to make the paint, which is then applied to wood and pressed on paper. The process is repeated with different colors to complete the painting.  Silk painting also has a long history in Vietnam. The French influence was absorbed into Vietnamese art during the 19th and 20th Centuries and the liberal and modern use of color especially began to differentiate Vietnamese silk paintings from their counterparts in other Asian countries.

It is true, “One Picture is worth a Thousand Words”…especially in Vietnam.
