A radical fusion of captivating design, all-inclusive hospitality, and world-changing conservation, Shinta Mani Wild places you in the midst of Southeast Asia’s last untouched wilderness. It’s a life-changing adventure that makes a real difference in protecting an imperiled ecosystem. Dotted along the river, our 15 tents were designed by acclaimed architect Bill Bensley to be completely private and utterly luxurious. Each location was meticulously planned over a seven-year period, guided by the idiosyncrasies of the river valley and the principles of minimal intervention.

Waterfall Tents: 

• The Cambodian Royalty Tent: Double sized bed, Perched over rolling rapids on the widest part of the river, Tent 01 pays respect to Cambodia’s royal heritage. It was the first one built, providing the DNA that guides Shinta Mani Wild to this day. 
• First Lady Jackie Kennedy’s Tent: Double sized bed, Full of authentic ephemera documenting Jackie’s 1967 visit to Cambodia, Tent 02 levitates above monsoon rapids. The gaps in the Cambodian-style wood floor allow the music of water into the room.
• The National Geographic Tent: Double sized bed, Nestled in a rocky gorge at the base falls, Tent 14 celebrates Shinta Mani Wild being named a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World. Inside, guests will find dozens of vintage National Geographic magazines and even a Nat Geo-themed Monopoly board!
• The Gibbons Tent: Double sized bed, The farthest up the river valley, Tent 15 is the most remote, which increases the chance you’ll hear our small troop of pileated gibbons. Inside, you’ll find a large painting of monkeys and select books by primatologists Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey, and Birute Galdikas.

Wild Tents:

• The Shinta Mani Foundation Tent: Double sized bed, Tent 03 is perched above a 25-meter (82-foot) wide boulder that completely disappears under white water at the peak of the wet season, like being on a giant surfboard! Inside is a lovely tribute to people who have made the Foundation what it is today.
• The Bohemian Tent: Double sized bed, Like the bohemian lifestyle, Tent 04 is filled with unconventional music, art, literature, and spiritual pursuits. The colorful sofas, inspired by the gorgeous work of artist Charley Harper, depict the threatened animals of the Cardamom Forest.
• The Great Conservationists Tent: Twin sized bed, Dedicated to Sir Laurens van der Post, the South African explorer and writer, Tent 05 is filled with his books. The vintage trunks are inscribed with the names of other legends of conservation, from Ansel Adams to Douglas Tompkins.
• The Butterfly Tent: Twin sized bed, Situated at the confluence of two rivers, Tent 07 is where a plethora of butterfly species have been spotted. The delightful artwork includes two butterfly paintings by artist Kate Spencer and two bronze butterflies flanking the living room porch.
• King Jayavarman’s Tent: Double sized bed, Tent 08 sits above an abundance of water that the setting sun seems to always find a way to reflect upon. The Jungle Book feeling is enhanced by Kate Spencer’s fanciful interpretations of King Jayavarman, who built the Bayon temple at Angkor.
• The Botanists Tent: Double sized bed, Nestled deep in the jungle but not too far from Headquarters, Tent 09 has a great view of the Tmor Rung River. Kate Spencer’s botanical paintings complement pressed-tin mirror frames & massive sky beds with cast metal detailing.
• The Birders Tent: Double sized bed, Tent 10 sits on the highest stilts, flying like a bird above much of the jungle canopy. This incredibly airy tent has a lovely library of ornithology books and is graced with a great mural of a hornbill and 15 other Cambodian birds.
• Shinta Mani’s Tent With a Heart: Double sized bed, Tent 11 showcases what is for sale at the camp. For a donation to the Shinta Mani Foundation, any of the Bensley design pieces that grace the tents can be purchased and shipped to guests’ homes, enabling them to always have a little bit of Shinta Mani Wild with them.
• The Elephants Tent: Double sized bed, Inspired by elusive herd of elephants and surrounded by a bamboo thicket, Tent 12 is guarded by a driftwood sculpture of a four-year-old elephant. Behind the dining table, 14 canvas panels were turned into a huge painting of an elephant inundated with Cambodian birds.
• The Terrapins Tent: Twin sized bed, Although the inspiration for Tent 13, the Royal Cambodian Terrapin, was thought to be extinct, we recently spotted one of these handsome turtles at the nearby Srey Ambel estuary. This tent is dedicated to those involved in their protection and breeding.

Two Bedroom Tents:

• The Wildlife Alliance Tent: Double and Twin sized bed, Floating over a wide tributary, Tent 06 is reached via a succession of narrow wooden walkways. Our Jungle Capsule works well as an add-on to the main tent for an extra double bed. The happy, colorful interiors have a military twist with equipment once used by Wildlife Alliance to protect the Cardamoms.

Dining

• The Headquarters: Guests will enjoy the freshest seasonal ingredients that Cambodia has to offer, many of them picked by our team in the surrounding forest. Our menus change daily, and their diversity will amaze you: Cambodian fish amok, braised lamb shoulder, soba noodles with tuna tataki.
• The Landing Zone bar: Cocktails are a Wild tradition, best enjoyed from a vintage French chair overlooking Big Raging Sister Falls at The Landing Zone bar. Our tempting drink list is created from ingredients plucked from the camp’s backyard, as well as our own apothecary-style bitters and our master mixologist’s techniques.
• Alfresco Dining: A picnic above a thundering waterfall? A forest feast set up by your Butler? Sundowners and fondue on a flat boulder in the river? Delicious dining surrounded by the Great Outdoors is a Wild specialty. 
• Farming & Foraging: We operate an organic farm (with designated vegetable and herb gardens, a cocktail and spa garden, and a plant nursery) and a free-range chicken run to supply eggs. No chemicals or pesticides are used (we plant marigolds instead!), and we compost all kitchen waste.
