Spend a day in the capital of Hokkaido, visiting Sapporo Beer Museum, Odori Park, Nijo Seafood Market, and the nightlife in Susukino.

Make a side trip to Otaru, about 40 minutes from Sapporo by train. The canal area is the main venue for the Otaru Snow Light Path Festival, which takes place at the same time as the Sapporo Snow Festival.

Enjoy a two-hour scenic ride from Sapporo to Niseko and spend two delightful days on the slopes at this premier ski resort. Niseko is famous for its fantastic snowfall—ideal powder snow that makes every run a joy, wrapped in the cozy warmth that follows a fun day outside.

Spend two nights at Hokkaido’s top hot spring resort. Visitors can relax in the soothing, high-quality waters and explore the fascinating source of these waters at Noboribetsu Hell Valley.

Take the train to Asahikawa in the center of Hokkaido, famous for its popular zoo and local ramen. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of your day at your leisure.
The Asahikawa Winter Festival takes place around the same time as the Sapporo Snow Festival.

A full-day visit to Asahiyama Zoo, with its polar bears, penguins and orangutans. The Asahikawa Ramen Village and Otokoyama Sake Brewery. Tour the historic facilities, learn about the sake-making process, and enjoy a tasting.
