Main Building: 

7 – 9 Tatami mats: 

• Room 16: 39 sqm, 8 tatami mats, Garden view. This room has a private ofuro bath handcrafted of the highest quality Japanese umbrella pine wood, with water drawn from our underground aquifer.
• Room 27: 40 sqm, 6.5 + 3 tatami mats, Garden view. A room with a tranquil atmosphere adorned with the playful creative touches of the craftsmen. The veranda has a view of the graceful Japanese Mube vines entwined along the wall and in the trees of the garden on the ground floor.
• Room 32: 31 sqm, 5 + 2 tatami mats, Garden view. Enjoy the calm atmosphere with a view of the walled courtyard garden.

8 Tatami mats + adjoining room: 

• Room 24: 51 sqm, 8 + 7 tatami mats, Garden view. From the windows on the veranda, you can see the twisted patterns of Japanese Mube vine draped gracefully along the wall of the inner courtyard garden on the ground floor.
• Room 26: 45 sqm, 8.5 + 3 tatami mats, Garden view. From the brightly opened veranda window, there is a splendid view of the main garden on the ground floor. 
• Room 28: 41 sqm, 8.5 + 4 tatami mats, Garden view. A corner room with casual openwork shoji paper windows on which to experience the beauty of shadows on the papered transom. The greenery of trees in the garden below can be enjoyed from the veranda.
• Room 31: 44 sqm, 8 + 4 tatami mats, Garden view. A calm and tasteful room facing an intimate walled garden.
• Room 34: 51 sqm, 8 + 7 tatami mats, Garden view. The calm atmosphere of this suite of two rooms features a lovely view of the garden with its graceful Japanese Mube vines draped gracefully along the wall in the background.

10 Tatami mats + adjoining room: 

• Room 14: 59 sqm, 10 + 4.5 tatami mats, Garden view. This calm corner room features a ceiling of rare Yakusugi cedar, known for its fine grain and unique texture, offering a glimpse of days gone by, as you can look out over the moss-covered garden through the delicate antique sliding glass doors.
• Room 19: 61 sqm, 10 + 4.5 tatami mats, Garden view. A corner room that retains the patina of time. There is a lovely view of the ground floor garden below.
• Room 21: 70 sqm, 10 + 7 tatami mats, Garden view. There are handcrafted metal nail covers and door pulls throughout, and from the window on the porch a view of the lush greenery of the garden below on the ground floor. 
• Room 29: 50 sqm, 11 + 4 tatami mats, Garden view. An impressive room with a unique ceiling reminiscent of a ship’s hull leads to wide open porch windows with expansive views of the ground floor garden, which can also be viewed from the adjacent deep shoin study, as the light streams in.

12 tatami mats + adjoining room:

• Room 25: 64 sqm, 12 + 7 tatami mats, Garden view. The room has a spacious feeling, and the main garden on the first floor can be viewed both here and from the window in the adjacent shoin study.
• Room 33: 65 sqm, 12 + 7 tatami mats, Garden view. A spacious room with impressive fusuma sliding-door paintings depicting colorful hana-guruma flower carts used for imperial rituals from the Edo period.

15 Tatami mats + adjoining room: 

• Room 30: 97 sqm, 15 + 14 tatami mats, Garden view. The most spacious room in Hiiragiya has a lovely, grand view of the main garden. 

New Wing: 

7 – 9 tatami mats:

• Room 53: 49 sqm, 6 tatami mats, Garden view. This diminutive room features a tsuboniwa courtyard garden that conveys the atmosphere of a Kyo-machiya townhouse.

8 tatami mats + adjoining wood floor room:

• Room 52: 57 sqm, 8 tatami mats, Garden view. A room with a light and clean impression that features the pristine beauty of straight-grain wood throughout.
• Room 62: 61 sqm, 8 tatami mats, Garden view. A room with a beautiful alcove where natural light is reflected on the decorative holly leaves making them appear as if they were dancing.

10 tatami mats + adjoining wood floor room:

• Room 51: 64 sqm, 10 tatami mats, Garden view. A view of the private inner garden can be enjoyed from the main room or from the spacious private bath.
• Room 61: 59 sqm, 10 tatami mats, Garden view. From the entrance to a room with polished wooden floors all the way through to the main tatami space, this room has a spacious sense of depth.

10 tatami mats + adjoining room:

• Room 63: 62 sqm, 10 + 3 tatami mats, Garden view. A corner room that expresses the spirit of Kyoto in a contemporary way, with an alcove that is reminiscent of a scroll painting. 

Japanese-influenced Western-style room:

• Room 54: 50 sqm, Twin sized bed, Garden view. This room with its graceful transoms and elegant curving walls features comfortable beds with luxurious Japanese futon and a view of an intimate courtyard garden.
