15 minutes by bus from Koyasan Station (2 minutes on foot after getting off at “Karukaya-mae Bus Stop” for Okunoin)

Shukubo Temple is close to other ancient Buddhist buildings such as Kongobu-ji Temple, which is a 10-minute walk. The Ichi-no-Hashi entrance to the ancient Okuno-In Temple is a 3-minute walk away.

 Ekoin Temple is a temple on Koyasan Mountain with a 1200-year history, which dates back to Kobo Daishi Kukai, who built a five-story pagoda and enshrined Bishamonten and Fudo Myoo.

  • Superior Japanese-Style: 16.53 sqm, 10 tatami mats, Garden view. In the veranda area, you can enjoy the view of the garden. The walls of the bathroom are covered in Japanese cypress, and the large bathtub will help you relax after a long day.

  • Shojin ryori: Offer Buddhist cuisine, Based on cooking methods that continue to this day: Goho (raw, boiled, baked, fried, and steamed); Gomi (soy sauce, vinegar, salt, sugar, and spicy hot); and Goshoku (red, blue, black, yellow, and white). At the lodging, we offer “furimai ryori,” a banquet food served after the monks’ ceremonies. No meat, fish, or other fish or raw meat odors are used, so it can also be enjoyed by vegetarians and vegans.
