Hotel Description

The history of Hotel New Otani began in 1962, when the Japanese government faced the daunting challenge of completing a massive construction effort to host an estimated 30,000 international visitors for the Tokyo Olympic Games in just two years. Yonetaro Otani, Hotel New Otani founder, agreed to build the finest hotel in the Orient on land he owned in Kioicho near the Imperial Palace, and thereby contribute to the national strategy for advancing Japan’s tourism industry.

• Nadaman Main Branch Sazanka-so: NADAMAN boasts a long history of offering its patrons distinctive Japanese “kaiseki” cuisine, acclaimed for its exquisite presentation and delicate taste.
• Tempura Horikawa: For the best of traditonal tempura in Tokyo, we invite you to try the culinary dishes offered at Horikawa. Tempuras can be accompanied by “sashimi” and other seasonal dishes in a variety of different courses.
• Ransen: Indulge in crab and other seasonal foods, prepared and presented in traditional yet innovative style.
• Okahan: Located in the far end of the Lobby floor in the Main building, serves traditional Japanese “sukiyaki”, “shabu shabu” and “oil yaki” (Japanese steak), using top quality beef and carefully selected fresh Japanese vegetables.
• Kyubey: Offers an abundance of market-fresh seasonal fish delicately prepared with small portions of rice by skilled sushi chefs. There are two Kyubey sushi bars in the hotel, one in the Main and the other in the Garden Tower.
• Tsukiji Suzutomi: Offers sushi prepared from carefully selected ingredients in an elegant atmosphere for a reasonable price. Counter seating enabling casual conversation with the chef, or a private tatami room with sunken areas for comfortable leg room, are available.
• Fumizen: Where delicious “tonkatsu”, breaded deep-fried pork cutlet, is served at reasonable prices. “Tonkatsu” is a popular dish in Japan and is usually served with shredded cabbage, white rice and “miso” soup. Other seasonal delicacies can also be enjoyed here at Fumizen.
• Niizu: Japanese noodles and eel (or “unagi”) dishes are offered here at Niizu, located on the Arcade Floor of the Main building. Niizu provides a variety of menu items for both lunch and dinner.
• Isehiro: Skewers of succulent chicken morsels are dipped in barbecue sauce or salted and then grilled to perfection over hot, aromatic charcoals. For an early-evening snack and cold beer, Isehiro is the place to be.

• Satsuki: This calm and relaxing restaurant features organic healthy ingredients and traditional menu items (both Japanese and international). Starting with an abundant breakfast buffet, SATSUKI offers lunch and dinner courses at reasonable prices, as well as a wide selection of À la carte items. 
• Garden Lounge: Take in the splendid view of the 400-year-old Japanese Garden from the full-height windows while you sit down with exquisite desserts, specialty coffees and teas. The popular Sandwich and Dessert Buffet and Afternoon Tea set both offer a selection of delightful seasonal items that are complemented by the changing vistas outside.
