Overview

Itinerary:

Day 1/ Arrive Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok, you have a warm welcome from your guide, private transfer to hotel.

Enjoy afternoon tea with delightful desserts in our Praya Dining restaurant or the Rom Pho room looking out to the Chao Phraya River.

Day 2/ Full Day Tour – Classic Bangkok (B,L,SD)

Today your guide will take you to the glittering and iconic Grand Palace. The Grand Palace is situated close to the Chao Phraya, Bangkok’s River of Kings. The palace occupies nearly one square mile. Built in 1782 by King Rama I, it was the center of power for more than 150 years. Take a walk around the vast grounds and visit the Emerald Buddha Image, the most revered Buddhist image in Thailand, and hear about its mysterious origins. Photography is permitted in the Royal Palace Grounds and in the compounds of the Emerald Buddha Temple, but not inside the buildings. Next, visit one of Bangkok’s favorite and intimate museums, the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles. Admire the Queen Mother’s elegant collection of ball gowns and fashionable clothing. The tour then continues to the nearby Wat Pho where you will see a vast collection of religious treasures on display. Admire the famous reclining Buddha image, which stretches 45 metres in length. Learn about the symbolism of the Buddha’s intricate footprint and witness devotees making offerings to this revered image. Later, take a tuk tuk ride to Nang Loeng Market for a tasty lunch. Nang Loeng Market is the oldest land market in Bangkok. Today this market remains in one of the oldest and best preserved communities in central Bangkok. This historic community offers a variety of rare traditional Thai food and desserts. Return to your hotel.

Tonight, enjoy a private dinner at Praya Dining restaurant.  The restaurant recently won a Michelin Plate and Thailand Best Restaurant Awards.

Day 3/  Bangkok – Koh Kred – Thai Culture @ Baan Dvara Prateep (B,L,D)

In the morning, transfer to the pier at Nonthaburi to board a boat for 15 minutes to Koh Kred. Explore on foot or bicycle, the two best ways to experience the ambiance of serenity and simple beauty on the island. Visit Batik and Pottery workshop.  Continue to cruise up the Chao Phraya River to Baan Dvara-Prateep.  Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with true Thai hospitality.  A well-prepared Thai traditional lunch will be served.  Enjoy afternoon tea and the taste of Thai sweets as you watch their preparation. Then we learn how to make Loy Krathong.  Floating banana leaves decorated with flowers and lit candles are called krathongs. Floating on the rivers, the krathongs reveal the Thai belief of paying gratitude to the living river. On ordinary days krathongs floating on the river signify giving merit and happiness to living spirits along the river.  Evening, a special dinner will be prepared by the localhost.  Before farewell to the host family, gain merit by floating a Krathong into the river.  This is a special opportunity to enjoy a holy and enchanting tradition. Return by boat to the pier Nonthaburi and transfer back to your hotel.
