Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Yangon

Arrive in Yangon; meet your local tour guide and private transfer to hotel.

Day 2Yangon (B,L)

Visit the Sule Pagoda and Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, the Bogyoke Market, well known for its handicrafts. Visit the spectacular golden Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most sacred pagodas in Myanmar. Evening free at leisure.

Day 3Yangon – Mandalay, The Last Royal Capital (B,D)

Fly to Mandalay and meet your local guide.
Visit the Shwenandaw Palace, the Former Royal Palace. Visit gold leaf beating and stone carving workshops. Visit traditional wooden shwenandaw Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda with the world’s largest book, made of marble. Visit the pilgrimage site of Mandalay Hill with its abundance of pagodas and monasteries.

Day 4Mandalay – Embarkation Strand Cruise – Wonders and Vista of Mingun (B,L,D)

Embark on the luxury Strand Cruise and visit the world-famous U Bein Bridge in Amarapura, one of the oldest teak bridges in the world, the revered Mahamuni Temple and Shwe In Bin Kyaung monastery. Sail to Mingun on the Ayeyarwady River. Explore the former royal capital of Mingun by tuk-tuk visiting the Pahtodawgyi stupa, the Mingun Bell, and Paya Hsinbyume.
Return to the ship and enjoy a dinner on the sandbank under the stars.

Day 5Ayeyarwady River – Ava - View and Waves of the River (B,L,D)

Visit the abandoned kingdom of Ava via horse and carriage traversing banana plantations and visiting the Yedanasini Pagoda and Bagaya Kaung. one of Myanmar’s finest teak monasteries. Sail towards Bagan and enjoy cooking demonstrations, swimming, massage therapies or just rest.

Day 6Ayeyarwady River – The Historical Pilgrimage in Bagan (B,L,D)

In Bagan, visit one of the most magnificent sights in the world studded with more than 2500 temples and stupas including.such wonders as the Ananda Temple and the gilded Shwezigon Pagoda.
Explore other highlights of the Bagan region, including the refined Sulamani Temple and the renowned Gubyaukgyi Temple, famous for its murals.
Back onboard for a cultural show and French tasting menu.

Day 7Disembarkation Strand Cruise – Bagan (B,L)

Disembark in Old Bagan and receive a special farewell from the monks. Our guide will meet at the pier. Visit the colorful Nyaung U Market, the Handicraft and Lacquerware Craft Center and Workshop, and the massive Damayangyi Temple. Enjoy a horse and cart ride.

Day 8Bagan – Heho – The Picturesque Inle Lake (B,L)

Fly to Heho and drive through cool green hills to Inle Lake.
Explore the lake by boat to see villages, temples and markets on floating islands and “one-legged rowing” fishermen. Visit the “Ancient monastery – Ngaphachaung”, cottage industries, and the colorful mountain hill tribes known for their handwoven silk fabrics.

Day 9Inle Lake – Inthar Village (B,L)

Visit the colorful morning indigenous market. Visit the village of Inpawkhone to observe the unique techniques of Inthar people weaving silk from the stems of lotus flowers. Visit a cheroot factory making hand rolled cigars and silversmiths and blacksmiths still using ancient techniques. Free time to explore or to visit the Red Mountain Estate Vineyards & Winery.

Day 10InleLake – Yangon – Departure (B)

Transfer to Heho airport and fly to Yangon for your international departure.
