Visit Wat Sisaket, the only temple left intact after the Siamese invasion in 1828. Visit Wat Phra Keo, containing a collection of Lao and Khmer works of art, the Presidential Palace, Wat Simuang – the most venerated temple in Vientiane, That Luang, the holiest site in Laos, and Patuxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe.
Explore Vang Vieng, a small town on the Nam Song River with stunning unspoiled scenery, Ban Bor, a salt producing village and Nam Ngum Lake with hundreds of small islands.
Visit Tham Xang (Elephant Cave) a remarkable limestone formation and Buddist Temple. Traverse small Lao farms and villages. Swim or go tubing at the Tham Nam (Water Cave). Enjoy a 3 hours kayaking experience and visit the Blue Lagoon for swimming or just relaxing.
Drive to the village of Phathao. Climb to the mountain ridge above Vang Vieng and visit the Tham Hok Cave with its amazing stalactites and stalagmites. Descend to a ‘Secret Eden” and time to swim in the cool water.
Drive further into the mountains passing spectacular scenery and numerous hill tribe villages to Luang Prabang.
Visit Wat Mai, renowned for its golden bas-relief, the National Museum (former Royal Palace), and Wat Sensoukarahm with its dazzling golden façade and beautiful Khuang Si Waterfalls. Climb Mount Phou Si (328 steps) to see the sacred, gilded stupa, and panoramic views at sunset.
Early risers will have a chance to witness the monks’ morning ritual, collecting alms.
Spend time at the organic “Living Rice Farm”. Try hands-on activities typical of local farmers. Learn about herbs and traditional medicine. Visit local handicraft workshops.
Optional – Experience the ancient ceremony of Baci to celebrate special events and reestablish harmony and balance.
Morning, drive to the Elephant Camp and experience bareback elephent ride. Trek 4km through stunning landscapes to the Khmu village of Ban Huay Fai. Trek to Ban Suan Dala, explore the real mixture of cultures of Laos, Hmong and Khmu. Take traditional long boat on Nam Khang River back Elephant Camp.
Free day at leisure. Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
