You will find many magnificent beaches along the Pacific Coast of Vietnam. They stretch from the South Central Coast to Southern Vietnam and to the Gulf of Thailand.
On the South Central Coast the best time to visit is March thru August.
Probably the most well-known beach area (especially for American military people) is around the coast of Danang. Here you will find some of the most beautiful and charming beaches of Vietnam. This area has a variety of types of accommodations from ultimate luxury to simple beach cabins and is close to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Imperial City of Hue, the Old Town of Hoi An and the My Son ruins for those who want to add a little cultural exploration to their beach activities. The beautiful area of My Khe is closeby where many U. S. soldiers spent their R&R.
Traveling further south you will find Quy Nhon, a large coastal city with grand boulevards. This area is lesser known to foreigners but it’s delightful seaside appeal, fresh seafood and tidy streets may soon change that. There is a charming fishing village nearby and opportunities for deep-sea fishing, golf and exploring ancient Cham historical sites.
About a two hour drive further south will bring you to Phu Yen. This off-the-beaten track gem has beautiful white sand beaches with a backdrop of lush green hills and amazing volcanic rock formations spilling into the sea.
Or you may want to fly from Hanoi or Saigon into Nha Trang, renowned for its stunning luxury resorts for those who want to be pampered or indulge in the ultimate honeymoon.
If you are traveling between November and April, we suggest you consider the Gulf of Thailand in Southern Vietnam.
Phu Quoc, the largest island in Vietnam, is home to mangrove forests, waaterfalls and mountains. Here you will find the endangered macaque. This area has been protected from overdevelopment and has many beaches, stunning views and coral reefs to explore.
However, if you find that February to June is your time to travel to Vietnam, we suggest the Southern Coast of Vietnam.
